Yes, I've done LDAP connections for Koha.  With the Auth_with_ldap perl
module, you can bind either as a user with compare privileges, or as the
user you are attempting to authenticate.  Once authenticated, Koha can
replicate or update the patron with information from the LDAP (the mapping
is part of your configuration, and both services are optional).
