[Koha] question comic book library and shop

Hello,

I'm a volunteer at an comicbook library in Antwerp, Belgium. It's a non-profit organisation that gets its funds by sponsoring (both private and government). But we also have a shop with comic books and comic related statues.

I'm also a student library science. This year is my final year and as a project I'm automating the library. I'm choosing to work with an open source ILS. I compared a few and I think Koha will be the best option for us. However, i'm not a techie and I can't seem to find an answer to one of my questions.

In our shop our members can get a subscription to the comic books. This means that whenever a new comic book gets published we can check our computer and see wich members have a subscription. We can then click and add the comicbook to their virtual map. When they visit the shop we can check their virtual map and see wich comics are put aside for them. The amount of money they must provide is automatically generated. I want to combine both systems: the shop part and the loan administration from the library. I want our members to be able to check online which comics they loaned and if they have anything in their virtual map in the shop.

The system we use now is access for the shop and the libraryloan system is the Brown system (so no automation yet). Koha will probably be installed with windows.

Is it possible with Koha to have a shop administration, or can I link the shop system (access) with the library system using Koha?

Greetings,

Nathalie Wilms
