[Koha] fun thing to do -- bar code scanner using cheap web cam

And adding to that, you could theoretically use the cam in a device like a smartphone to read barcodes too. There are apps that do this already, and it would be so cool to have an app for koha so librarians could tote their smart(device) out into the stacks to do inventory/other maintenance/reference live without a laptop.
