[Koha] ties to authorities while cataloging

Everyone,
Sorry but this another stupid newbie question.  I'm still trying to 
figure out how authorities are used in Koha.  Is there a way to search 
the authority files for headings while cataloging in Koha - for example 
to see what headings are already established or have been used in the 
catalog already?
