Perl 5.8 is not available with Lenny Stable but with Etch OldStable.
You can manually download the package from following link.
http://packages.debian.org/etch/perl
And can install the package with "dpkg -i <package_name>.deb"
But make sure that you have other dependency packages for Perl5.8 as well.
