[Koha] Migration from Follett to Koha 3

It’s defined as subfield 8 – it comes from an authorized value list. Item type does seem to handle case differences OK, but collection code was definitely a problem. I was doing some sample data imports, and had to script a case conversion for subfield 8.

If you haven’t found it already, the online manual page is very useful:

https://sites.google.com/a/liblime.com/koha-manual/Home/Table-of-Contents/Cataloging/item-fields-data-migration

Making a rather large leap of reasoning here, maybe anything that’s an authorized value has to match the case? Does anyone know for sure?

Jane

Which field is the collection code and where in Koha do you define it? This could be a possibility. I noticed that when you add a item type even if you put it as all lower case it switches it to upper.

Another thing to check – I’ve found that the codes can be case sensitive. Collection code for instance – I had a code in lower case in the item import, and it didn’t work until I made it upper case to match how it was defined on the server. I haven’t done extensive testing yet on the other fields, but it’s worth investigating.

Did you define the branch with a branchcode that matches the itemdata? If not the result is predictable, since the foreign key relationship on branchcode would be violated.

Good Morning All

Has anyone come across an issue when you import your Follett catalog export in Koha 3 a large number of your holdings info doesn’t get imported? I double checked Follett and the info is there and there is a bibliography record in Koha just no entry in the items table.

Any ideas?

Here is a sample of a record that is having this issue:
