[Koha] Error when appending record to a biblio

Does anyone have an idea how we can solve this problem?
We are experiencing a fatal error when trying to append an item to a biblio. 
Can't call method "append_fields" on an undefined value at /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8/MARC/File/SAX.pm line 92. at /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8/XML/LibXML/SAX.pm line 73
