[Koha] stop words

Greetings colleagues, I'm setting up Koha 3 and noticed that there is a tip for Stop Words: "The zebra search engine works much better if you leave your stop words preference turned off. If this preference is off, there is no need to edit this list."

There seems to be quite a few stop words... would the zebra search engine work better if there were fewer stop words in the list?
