[Koha] Returns in version 3

I found a little more info.  Things seem ok from the web interface when 
I try to check out an item, but there is an error logged in koha-error_log.

circulation.pl: DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Column 'itemtype' cannot 
be null at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Stats.pm line 83., referer: 
http://192.168.1.4:8080/cgi-bin/koha/circ/circulation.pl
