[Koha] Barcodes Help

G'day,
we're running koha 2.2.4 on FC3 and the library staff have almost completed 
entering the books.  They have been trying to print barcodes, and they are 
stuggling to get this to work.

On the Barcodes Generator screen, everything that they key into the From and 
To fields, results in the message "Can't find inventory codes in that range. 
Please try again."  What are these "inventory codes"?  We've tried the actual 
sql record numbers, the barcodes that were scanned when the books were keyed 
and various random numbers, all to no avail.

One thing that I have found is that if we key in 0 (zero) to either field, the 
following messages ares diplayed in koha-error_log

Is there an idiots guide to printing barcodes anywhere?  I've trawled the 
mailing lists and documentation references on the koha websites but I can't 
find anything obvious.
