Yes? You typed something like
   cd path/to/koha/intranet/scripts/z3950
   ./z3950-daemon-shell.sh
and it didn't work?

I can't add the path to z3950-daemon-start.sh because it isn't known. 
I can make it calculate it, though, which I shall do.
