        Another alternative is to install phpMyAdmin on your web
        server..  phpMyAdmin can import date in almost most formats
        readable by MS Excel or Gnumeric. (At least I've never had any
        problems)
        
        As a bonus it gives you a nice multilingual way of administering
        your MySQL server.
