[Koha] Adding New Fields to Koha - librarian help please.

Hi All,

I'm a new user to the list. (And just out of interest for the community
have been embarking on a project to port Koha over to Windows
NT/2000/XP. I'll create a separate post on this project if anyone's
interested...)

Also somewhat related to MARC, I have been investigating MARC-XML -
which is a developing standard for converting MARC to the XML format...

If Koha is still interested in eventually providing full MARC support
for the 
database and the front end, you might want to look at how MARC handles
this 
information.  Abstracts are most commonly stored in the 520 tag and URLs
in the 
856 tag.  But note that MARC also provides room for URLs in several
other tags 
in subfield $u (the 520 tag happens to be one).  See

confusing!) 
discussion of the MARC format.
