Placing holds on multiple volumes that are on a single bib record

Hi all,

We are having a hard time placing multiple holds on bib records that have multiple volumes on the same bibliographic records. Some DVD sets have the discs individually cataloged/barcoded or Serial records that have circulating items. We get the message: Cannot place hold. Patron already has a hold on this item. This shows up even when the next available copy box has been unchecked.

Is it possible to place holds for a single patron on multiple volumes/items of a single bibliographic record?
