I had a similar problem with Irish characters not displaying correctly.<br>
It was down to browser default character encoding.<br>

I overcome this by using the Perl 'Encode' module<br>

Where print $x was displaying Irish characters incorrectly, using<br>

print encode('utf-8',$x); renders Irish characters correctly. So each<br>
time a variable (string) is added to a template I use:<br>

We had a bit of gremlin trouble over the weekend. This included<br>
trouble with z39.50 searches returning no results, even for items that<br>
I knew were there. By the time I got around to looking at everything<br>
again, the problems had all resolved. Accents are appearing as they<br>
should, z39.50 searches are returning results. Phew.<br>

How is the recommended way to move to the upcoming 3.4? We were<br>
thinking of having two instances. One with our current 3.02.02.003 and<br>
one with 3.4. Is that a good way to do it or should we upgrade to 3.2.7<br>
and go from there?<br>

Can we move our data or is it better to do a fresh load? How different<br>
is the database in 3.4?<br>
