Hi Calvin,<br>
I am the person who maintains the install package for w32. No, I have
not done anything about trying to incorporate zebra.<br>

My thoughts are:<br>
1. Most of the development work with zebra seems to be taking place in
the version 3 beta. Although some testing was done with zebra in v 2.x,
the real benefits of zebra will only come with all the new clean code
that is being written for v3. And I don't think there are any plans to
backport those changes to v2. <br>
2. A number of messages on the list indicate that zebra is hard to
setup and configure. I still have my hands full trying to get the w32
install package to be stable and easy to use, without adding another
layer of complexity. Trying to add zebra will probably break more than
it will fix.<br>
3. Per a message from Paul last week, zebra is "probably a rocket bomb
to kill a fly for small libraries". In other words, it is overkill,
unless you have a really large collection. I am thinking that most of
the people who are trying koha on w32, probably don't have large
libraries. The koha install is difficult enough without adding another
layer of complexity.<br>
4. Since the koha plus zebra implementation is still under development,
I don't think there are any good documents yet on how to set it all up.
Installing and using koha is confusing enough without adding another
whole layer which is not well documented.<br>

That being said, when v3 is released, maybe we can look at it again.
Until then, if you really want to play with it, there are zebra install
packages available for the windows platform. And there have been some
instructions in various emails on the development list on how to
configure it to work with koha. If you want to have a go at it, more
power to you. Keep good notes and if you get it working we can use your
notes for incorporating it into a future install for v3.<br>

You should take a look at the email thread on the development list last
week with the subject "the future of koha without zebra" to get a feel
for which way things may be headed. <br>
