I think the LITA forum can be interesting for readers here playing with
Koha.<br>
We are a part of "collaborative projects in the digital age" aren't we ?<br>

2003 LITA National Forum <br>
<br>
"Putting Technology Into Practice" is the theme for the sixth annual <br>
Library and Information Technology Association (LITA) National Forum, <br>
to be held October 2 - 5, 2003 at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside, <br>
Norfolk, VA. <br>
<br>
Three exciting general sessions anchor the event. R. David Lankes, <br>
Executive Director of the Information Institute of Syracuse and <br>
Assistant Professor at Syracuse University's School of Information <br>
Studies, will speak on the current state of digital reference <br>
services. Liz Bishoff, Executive Director of the Colorado <br>
Digitization Program, will discuss collaborative projects in the <br>
digital age. The closing session features David Seaman, Director of <br>
the Digital Library Federation, speaking on major trends in digital <br>
libraries. <br>
<br>
More than 25 concurrent sessions provide a wealth of practical <br>
information. Topics include virtual reference consortia, digital <br>
library collection management, database-driven websites, metadata <br>
standards (including OAI), XML databases, open source portal <br>
management, cross-database search projects, managing access to GIS <br>
repositories, usability studies, and much more. In addition, for the <br>
first time, the 2003 Forum includes poster sessions, presenting <br>
unique technology applications that solve specific problems, such as <br>
digital rights management in the academic environment, PDA use in <br>
health sciences libraries, and link maintenance and repair. <br>
<br>
Add to the Forum experience with a choice of preconference workshops, <br>
a full day on "The Library as a Place in the Digital Age," or a half <br>
day on either <a class="moz-txt-link-rfc2396E" href="HandheldLibraryPrograms: NewLevelsofService">"Handheld Library Programs: New Levels of Service"</a> or <br>
"Creating, Managing, and Using Open Source Software in Libraries." <br>

and networking opportunities to attendees. We gratefully acknowledge <br>
