[Koha] Matching authority records with tag 001

I tested out an 001 match using the control-number index and I too had problems and no match was found. Our locally created authorities have a 6 digit number in the 001. I was however able to overlay the existing authorities in two ways.

My first way involved using MarcEdit to move the six-digit 001 to the 010$a and then used our usual LCCN record matching rule:

Matching rule code: LCCN
Description: 010
Match threshold: 1000
1. Search index: LC-card-number
2. Score: 1000
1. Tag: 010
2. Subfields: a
3. Offset: 0
4. Length: 0
5. Normalization rule: [none]

That's just a standard match on the Library of Congress control number. I was a little surprised that the LC-card-number worked with the local-to-us six digit number, but the match was found and the overlay worked.

The second (easier) way I found the match was when I changed my existing 001-authority matching rule to use the LC-card-number index (rather than control-number index).

Matching rule code: 001
Description: 001
Match threshold: 1000
1. Search index: LC-card-number
2. Score: 1000
1. Tag: 001
2. Subfields: [none]
3. Offset: 0
4. Length: 0
5. Normalization rule: [none]

That worked perfectly too, without the drama of moving 001 to 010$a.

Hi Giacomo,

did you export the records from Koha for batch editing? Can you confirm manually that the 001 of the records still match?

Hope this helps,

Katrin

Also, since this matching rule uses a control field, we've tried changing the length to '5' (correct in our case), but to no avail. We've even tried changing the subfield to 'a' and '@', but this doesn't seem to change anything.
