[Koha] Question re TOCs and other digital content

Hi, Anke--

We do use Elasticsearch and like it very much--we love the control of configuration that we have with it, and how it works.  As far as I know, it doesn't search within files attached to bib records, and we're glad that it doesn't.  We do add edited summaries & abstracts to bib records in 520(s), and add tables of contents in the 505(s), because we are an OCLC library, so we share our bib records with the world, and not everyone has an ILS capable of searching for this information in other ways, and having that information in OCLC makes it discoverable via WorldCat.org as well as easily searchable within our own Koha catalog.

Adding such information from a .pdf is very easy for us with Adobe Acrobat (after it OCRs the text)--simple copy/paste, and a good text editor can automate adding required punctuation and subfields (as does OCLC's Connexion Client software)--macros are now easy to create in Koha's advanced bibliographic record editor as well, I find.
