Following for 650a -- modify as required.

mysql> SELECT biblionumber FROM biblioitems WHERE ExtractValue( marcxml, 
'//datafield[@tag="650"]/subfield[@code>="a"]' ) LIKE "%search term%";

Note the wildcards around the search term; if you don't use them and have 
multiple 650 entries, then the query will fail.
