It is possible to upgrade from Koha 2.2 to a current version and I 
believe there are instructions on the Koha wiki.  However it is a 
lengthy and difficult task that, in my opinion, produces an imperfect 
result.

I generally recommend treating the task like any other LMS conversion.  
Create a fresh Koha from Debian packages.  Export your bibliographic 
data from Koha 2.2 and edit the 952 tag to the fields required by Koha 
3.  Then import the data to your new Koha. Patrons, current loans and 
reading history can also be retained by a similar process.

Many will disagree with me, but that is my view.
