My understanding about RDA from the LOC is that RDA records should be separate from other AACR2 records since they are cataloged differently.  What I generally see is libraries will set up an RDA framework with the appropriate RDA fields and use that framework to catalog in an RDA manner. 

However, you can certainly add RDA tags to existing frameworks and then catalog in a hybrid RDA/AACR2 method.  I think it depends on how your cataloger feels about it. :-)

As the Computer Support Person, I've been asked to add RDA support to 
our Koha database, but after considerable reading, it is my 
understanding that the Library of Congress has decided that this is not 
the way to proceed.

Can anyone clarify whether adding RDA support is necessary and required 
for the Koha Framework to support upcoming MARC records?
