Bengal Library Association is one of the oldest library associations in
India was established under the presidentship of poet Rabindranath Tagore
in 1925. Our main aims are to: Promote the library movement in Bengal;
diffuse the knowledge of scientific method of maintenance and organization
of  libraries and to organize library talks, lectures, conferences and
exhibitions; work for the co-ordination of library and systematization of

provide training to develop manpower for library automation in our state
with the help of KOHA. We would like to get listed for paid support

Short Description about our services:

Bengal Library Association is a non-profitable organization. Regarding
library automation our main aim is to automate libraries in this country
with the help of open source software, KOHA, in a minimum cost which can
be easily affordable to all libraries. For this purpose we have already
started installing this software to some libraries in our state which are
running it successfully.
