[Koha] Question about Authorities

Greetings,

We found it very confusing to add a new authority record for Personal
Name(and others as well, I guess) in Koha. Do we really need to fill
out all those fields? Can't we make just having tab 1 on display,
because that's actually the record we want to add?

Would appreciate it if someone could explain how Authorities work in Koha.
