[Koha] Export authorities

We have been training our staff to catalogue in a second instance of
Koha, building up a pile of new authorities as we go along.
Exporting biblios is easy. But there doesn't seem to be a simple way
to export authorities. Digging around I've found the information
below, but it's from a couple years back and not exactly what I want
to do. Ideally I want to download a selection from one catalogue
and upload them to another. From what I can gather, I have to take a
copy of all the authority records, delete the ones I don't need for
the other catalogue (they are mostly duplicates) and then import the
resulting file.  Is this correct?

If you modify authority records, you'll want to modify linked biblio
records, and update zebra indexes. So you should use Koha authorities
API:  C4::AuthoritiesMarc.
