Frances,

I don't believe there is a search index for 856u in the Zebra
configuration files.

You could set one by adding corresponding entries in
/etc/koha-dev/etc/zebradb/biblios/etc/bib1.att
/etc/koha-dev/etc/zebradb/marc_defs/marc21/biblios/record.abs
/etc/koha-dev/etc/zebradb/ccl.properties

Then rebuild indexes before using the new index in matching rules.

The normalization rule does not matter, leaving it blank should work.

Thanks,
Savitra Sirohi
