[Koha] Migrate Data?

Hi,

I am looking to replace a Winnebego system with Koha. This is for a small library within a school where I handle the technology. I am not a librarian so have been learning as I go.

Last spring I was able to export the data from the old system, modify it with marc edit and get the library holdings (with our bar codes) imported in Koha 3.0 virtual machine. We never went live with that system and it wasn't able to properly print barcodes and so on. In that system if I try and Update Koha it breaks the system. You get nothing but errors trying to see it through the web interface. Because of this it was put on the back burner.

I am trying again with the new Koha 3.2 virtual machine as it looks like the bar code printing has been revamped quite a bit. I am running into problems importing the same marc file into 3.2, it is not keeping our bar codes. 

Is there an easy method of moving the data from the 3.0 virtual machine and move it to 3.2? Or any other ideas?
