[Koha] changing loan times

Greetings colleagues, our library's materials all circulate for four weeks. I'd like to change the loan times to two weeks for books, and one week for visual materials. I just checked the circulation & fines rules and found that I evidently changed it a while back though all our materials still go out for four weeks:
Patron Category - Item Type - Fine Amount - Fine Grace Period - Fine Charging Interval - Current Checkouts Allowed - Loan Period
IL - Default - $0.00 - Unlimited - 70 day(s)
Default -  Books - $0.00 - Unlimited - 14 day(s)
Default -  NonCirculating & Reference - $0.00 - Unlimited - 7 day(s)
Default -  VHS & DVDs - $0.00 - Unlimited - 7 day(s)
Default - Default - $0.00 - Unlimited - 30 day(s)

So what must I do to get materials to circulate according to the circulation & fines rules? Am I missing something?

I also checked the patron types & categories and item types & circulation codes just in case and found that everything looks good.
