There's also a new feature coming downstream
http://bugs.koha.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=3482
specifically to handle print notices.
Don't know whether it is in your version yet or not but it allows you to 
email to those who have addresses and produces an HTML page of paper 
notices for those who do not - these can then be printed.
