I agree - with the Guest Additions installed, VirtualBox is a dream.
Dual booting is a pain, and it seems to become more annoying as time goes by.
Get plenty of RAM and a 64-bit host OS.

I don't what others recommend, I personally have Koha and Evergreen on
their own virtual machines using Virtualbox on my computer.
