Hi Nouman

I might have just been talking to you on irc, if not this might be
helpful anyway.

19:43 < chris> if it saying connection failed, it means the koha
server can't connect to z3950.loc.gov
19:44 < chris> which is usually caused by a firewalling blocking the
port it is trying to connect on
19:46 < CGI351> Im on debian-lenny
19:46 < CGI351> so wht should i do ??
19:47 < chris> at your commandline
19:47 < chris> type
19:48 < chris> telnet z3950.loc.gov 7090
19:48 < chris> does it say connected
19:50 < CGI351> I t say 'Trying 140.147.249.38...
19:50 < CGI351> telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: connection refused
19:51 < chris> yep, its not a koha problem then
19:51 < chris> something is blocking your connection
19:51 < CGI351> mean?
19:51 < chris> mean its not koha
19:51 < chris> you will need to talk to your network administrator
19:51 < chris> or ISP
19:52 < CGI351> what problem it may be?
19:52 < CGI351> with network or ISP? Im on proxy
19:53 < Ropuch> Morning #koha
19:56 < chris> i dont know, i dont know your network setup
19:57 < chris> but there is definitely something blocking port 7090
outbound from your machine
19:57 < chris> its not something anyone here can fix
19:57 < chris> you need to talk to whoever configures your network
19:58 < CGI351> ok

Hope this helps

Chris
