[Koha] General question on updating Koha 3

Sirs, I'me having the problems with indexing and retrieving authority 
records per bugs in
my early revision of Koha 3.   Details appear below.

I'm running on Suse 11 and would like a more experienced opinion on my 
best option.

Are there any update scripts available or am I going to have to do a 
complete replacement
of Koha on my system.  If I am required to do the replacement, are there 
any changes to
me made to my databases  (MySQL)?

I'm not finding any docs on this other than using the updater (for debian).

Any reply, off line or otherwise, wold be appreciated.
