[Koha] Koha without MARC

Hello:

I've been looking to use Koha without MARC support. Is this possible
in Koha 3 and what are the upsides and downsides to not using MARC?

The reason I ask is that it'll be so much easier to import books into
the system, from our current Excel sheets, rather than using MARC or
so I assume.
