[Koha] Koha 3.0 - Catalog display problems - item type & No items available

Item types are set at item level.

Some items display correctly.  It may be that some item level information is
in the 800s and others in the 900s.  

Correct my if I'm wrong.  Is the initial search result displaying the
location from the MARC and the detail page displaying information from
mysql?

If so, is there a way (with a script, or otherwise) to re-populate the MARC
records from the mysql records to correct the problem.

Any other suggestions?
