OK,  any one of these packages (in debian) actually...

  $ sudo apt-get install	[courier-mta, esmtp-run, exim, exim4-daemon- 
heavy, exim4-daemon-light, masqmail, msmtp-mta, nullmailer, postfix,  
smail, ssmtp, xmail]


exim4 is the pick for me ;)
