Hello Elizabeth,
We use a wide variety of scanners in Horowhenua Library (New
Zealand) with Koha, from pretty cheap ones to quite expensive ones.
They all work with an absolute minimum of setting up. My experience
is you get what you pay for. If your issue station is not under heavy
load, a cheap scanner will do the job fine. If you have a busy
station, get the best you can afford - it will work in worse light,
through plastic, read faster and be a joy forever.
Good luck,
Rosalie Blake
