BRAVO, PAUL!

I've worked with 6 different ILS, and reviewed more than a dozen in
1997-1998 as part of a volunteer project for an NPO, and NOT A ONE featured
a one-click-all-install for the very reasons that Paul gave.

(And what are these mythic systems that some are referring to anyway? I can
post some real horror stories for those needing edification about the joys
of some turnkey systems that cost $5,000 USD and up and what they did to
various librarians of personal acquaintance)

So, again: Bravo, Paul!

It would be nice if Koha eventually became simpler for those of us not
gifted with (or with much time to acquire) technical expertise, but if one
is a library worker one has to realise that there is always more to learn
and if we want a system for free (so to speak) we should at least be trying
to learn something.

IMHO, if both tech- and library-side people try to bridge the gap instead
of sniping (review some of what was said in the past week re: Koha), things
might even get to where everyone can be happy sooner.

Until then, we struggle on TOGETHER.

All blessings to the gods and goddesses of the Koha code,
