Dear all, While working on koha i found 3/4 bugs in already available options i.e. it was not working properly hence i immediately posted on bug to make aware the developers and users too. Unfortunately i have been told by one of the good developer that i am spaming ! So could you please let me know what to do if a user found many bugs? I feel every person is having limitation of time and technical capacity. Testing koha functionality and making it popular is another good contribution which can be done by library professionals easily. _______________________________________________ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz https://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha
There is certainly nothing wrong with filing bugs. No one will accuse you on Bugzilla for spamming unless it's actually spam.

I personally don't think every bug report should be shared on the Facebook group. Perhaps this is what was interpreted as spamming? The Facebook group might be a good place to start a discussion about a proposed feature or to get help with a bug, but in my opinion simply posting links isn't helpful. Again, that's just my opinion. -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org

All that was really said by Mark Tompsett on the "Koha Users" facebook group was that FB's anti-spam algo was flagging these posts as spam. As one of admin of the group, he was getting the notifications and had simply pointed it out. Western blunt and direct approach can and does often (unfortunately) get interpreted as rudeness in South Asian cultures. (My comment: the false positives were due to two reasons: (a) the bug reports are yet to have any follow up comments on them and (b) Vinod had daisy-chained the posts across *several* FB groups without adding any *additional* content, thus further flaring up the anti-spam algo's EER ratio). Hope that clears the air indradg
Again, that's just my opinion.

This is good to know and I hope everyone keeps this in mind in the future. Thank you for sharing it. -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org
Dear All, Indranil are you aware what Mark has told me in my personal inbox at Facebook? on the basis of which i had posted the message on koha mailing list? My intention was not to reveal anything as i know Everybody is doing well but the message confused me about the method and the way for filling the bug so i posted. Now i realize my mistake was only that i did not properly checked with key words before posting on bug, because some were already filed and resolved in latest version 16.11.08 and one was resolved by Mark after my posting and few are in discussion. I am a typical Indian so i know many are using facebook rather than best koha discussion forum although they are using Koha. Hence i broadcasted over FB to make them aware about the bug because some time people like me thinks that bug is in our minds in proper understanding of Koha rather than bug in Koha program.
