I need help, Here is my scenario. I have created authorised value for LOC "short Loan and item type Short Loan. I plan to set the two separate loan periods. One loan period should be 2 hours and the other 24 hours for the same item type "Short Loan" and in a location called Short Loan. I am at my wits end, please help. Sitali C. Loan periods are defined in the Administration section of the staff client under "Circulation and fine rules." http://manual.koha-community.org/3.12/en/patscirc.html#circfinerules Rules can be configured according to patron, library, and item type. It sounds like you need to define two item types (not authorised values) and define loan rules for each of them. -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org
Thanks. The question still remains. Defining two item types short loan for for two different loan periods; 2 hours and 24 hours for one patron category type Teacher. I want a situation where a Patron type Teacher can choose to borrow the same item type short loan for two different loan periods either 2 hours or 24 hours On 21 November 2013 22:38, Owen Leonard <oleonard@myacpl.org> wrote:

Sorry I don't see how you can do that in Koha. -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org

Hi, I don't think this functionality exists - one can't choose a rule at checkout time, you can only do combinations of item type, patron category, and branch. The only way I can think of to hack around this, is to define two item types, Short Loan 2 and Short Loan 24, and manually assign the item being checked out to that item type before issuing it. Doing what you are asking, or streamlining my workaround, would both be developments. Liz On 22/11/13 10:06, Chrispin Simasiku Sitali wrote:

Actually, you should just use the due date picker on the issue screen to do this. Done. Cheers, Liz On 22/11/13 10:06, Chrispin Simasiku Sitali wrote:

It has worked! How sweet Koha can be. This problem has been troubling me for three years now. You have just solved my problem. I now can go to bed with a smile on my face. Its 30 minutes before mid night here in Zambia. Cheers and good night On 21/11/2013, Liz Rea <liz@catalyst.net.nz> wrote:
