Man, will I *ever* get used to the "do not reply to list" thing? This was supposed to be public. Actually, I think this enhancement request might already be there: http://bugs.koha.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=2060 I'm *definitely* in favor of this. We're dying a slow death without a way to import LC (or OCLC) authority records. Thanks, -- Ben On Thu, Sep 17, 2009 at 9:48 PM, Chris Nighswonger <cnighswonger@foundations.edu> wrote:

I think this is a great enhancement idea. Something similar to the marc import tool or possibly similar to the z3950 biblio search. Would you mind opening an enhancement request at http://bugs.koha.org so that we can keep track of it and possibly garner some sponsorship for it?

What are the authorities for? I cant find a explanation for them, I am trying to edit the 100 $a field, i figured out how to add authorities, do a search for that authority to stick it in the 100$a field, but whats the point? I could just turn them off, would it have a great affect on things?
Thanks. For those that reply.

Use the list-reply command of your email program when you want to reply to the list. If anyone wants list-reply to be the usual reply action, they can tell their email program. If someone's email program does not support mailing list use properly, then they should consider upgrading or using a filter in front of it to give the settings that they want. I have some notes about list-friendly email clients that people have sent in at http://mjr.towers.org.uk/comp/list-mua.html and Claws Mail looks like the best at the moment.
