Hello, First I would like to say thanks to Savitra and Greg for responding to my question this week about relevance ranking. Savitra's suggestion to disable sys pref QueryAutoTruncate made a big difference. Search results are much better since I followed that advice! Here is something I just now (!) came across. I have 919 records with ampersands that render in HTML code, "&". Does this require that I fix all 919 records or is there an easier database-level solution? I really cannot believe I did not notice this before now : / My tech support specialist wonders whether it is a reserved character in Koha, but I do not know. Thanks!

& is not a reserved character in Koha. I have titles with ampersands in them as well and I don't see them output as &. Where do you see them this way? The OPAC? The staff client? Search results or detail pages? And what version are you using? -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org
Owen, Sorry for the lack of detail. I see & in both the OPAC and staff client, search results list and detail level. The really weird thing is that & and & are seemingly inconsistent, as evidenced in this title here: "A framework for identification & control of resource degredation & conflict in the multiple use of the coastal zone" (as displayed in the search results) -- compared to "A framework for identification & control of resource degredation & conflict in the multiple use of the coastal zone" (as displayed in detail/record level). Help! Thanks amy -----Original Message----- From: Owen Leonard [mailto:oleonard@myacpl.org] Sent: Thursday, November 18, 2010 11:00 AM To: Amy Schuler Cc: koha@lists.katipo.co.nz Subject: Re: [Koha] Thanks & question re: special character

Nearly forgot - we are running Koha v. 3.02.00.004. -----Original Message----- From: Amy Schuler Sent: Thursday, November 18, 2010 12:19 PM To: 'Owen Leonard' Cc: koha@lists.katipo.co.nz Subject: RE: [Koha] Thanks & question re: special character Owen, Sorry for the lack of detail. I think it has something to do with this bug: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=3326 I submitted a patch which fixes it in some instances, but if you're using XSLT in the intranet it still shows the ampersands incorrectly. Cindy On 11/18/2010 10:45 AM, Amy Schuler wrote:
