Hej på dig Magnus, With help of the guys at Koha IRC I made changes to default.idx as you can see here http://kl1p.com/koyauni Then I set-up Koha for using ICU indexing in Admin setting. Then I did re-indexing of Zebra. All this made the search function stop working and even for English records did not give any results. So I am in square 1 on this. Please not this from the manual:

"[UseICU] will not affect Zebra indexing, it should only be used to tell Koha that you have activated ICU indexing if you have actually done so, since there is no way for Koha to figure this out on its own."

You have to first configure Koha to use ICU, then you can make sure UseICU is set according to that.

Currently, UseICU only affects how search links for complex subjects are constructed in the OPAC and Intranet.

The difficulty with LiveCD's is that they are typically out of date by the time you get them. His LiveCD is using Koha 3.2.5, I believe. This is 3 major versions behind the most recent release (3.8.5). If you insist on using LiveCDs/LiveDVDs, might I suggest finding one that is at least 3.8.something in the version number of Koha. It is my understanding that the Koha community does not recommend LiveCDs/LiveDVDs in general.

I think LiveCDs/LiveDVDs have their place e.g. trying out Koha if you are not a Linux guru, or before going through the whole installation process. They would not generally be recommended for a live/production system though.
