From my experience with Koha, you can't do that. At least not without major code refractoring and reimplementing the whole circulation search behaviour.

Also, if searching by title, what would happen when multiple items were found for the same input? The librarian would still have to verify the barcode in order to check out the correct item. This could be an interesting feature to have for libraries without scanners though. Maybe someone else has already experienced this and can provide you with additional information. Hello All,

I have installed koha 16.11 with the update and am using ubuntu 14.0, the library that i have installed koha on,do not have access to barcode reader or scanners and hence it has become a problem, because when checking out a book to a patron,you need to input the barcode number,likewise when checking in.

Please is there a way that i can setup the circulation process to not use barcode but instead the titles of the books to do circulation management.
