Hello Prajeesh,
Anyone is using KOHA with barcode. Is it possible. Any additional software needed. Tell me the experience. Any problems occured during the implementation.
If you mean the barcode reader hardware, i guess its just plug and play on the client computer in my experience. If you mean printing barcodes, yes Koha supports printing of barcodes. If you are more comfortable with some other software, you could just connect to the Koha database and print out the barcodes you want. And its Koha and not KOHA ;-) Olugbenga Adara Mobile: 234 (0) 8033220288 Home: 234 (2) 8721720 Skype: gbengaadara Blog: http://gbengaadara.blogspot.com Twitter: http://twitter.com/gbengaadara Profile: http://www.linkedin.com/in/gbengaadara
So, Koha can use any laser jet printer, isn't it? How about the driver? -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Using-Barcode-with-koha-tp4618195p4621907.... Sent from the Koha - Discuss mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Koha uses the printer capability provided by the operating system. On most GNU/Linux systems, the printing system is provided by a software called Cups. If Cups supports your printer, yes, Koha will use that printer to print barcodes. -- Mahesh T. Pai || Distribute Free Software -- Help stamp out Software Hoarding!

Have you contacted the CUSAT library? They use Koha. The NUALS too uses Koha, but that is yet to go online - they are currently in the process of shifting their campus, (from Kaloor to near HMT) and will be go online using Koha. NUALS uses barcode. I had done the installation for them, and frankly, was shocked to see that they use barcodes. I was expecting couple of days struggle to get the scanner and whatever working. Too bad ... times are changing. :-D No, I do not provide commercial support for Koha. -- Mahesh T. Pai || The next best thing to knowing something is to know where to find it. --Samuel Johnson
