yaz failed dependencies on CentOS (~RedHat)
I've been volunteering to help install Koha at my daughter's school and I've run into some trouble. I have a basic understanding of unix but I'm new to Linux. For several reasons we have installed CentOS ("an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution derived from sources freely provided to the public by a prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor", which I understand to be RedHat). I have been unable to install yaz, and receive the error messages appended below when I try to install yaz, libyaz, or libyaz-devel. I would very sincerely appreciate any help. [root@Dell1600sc ~/Desktop]$ rpm -i yaz-2.1.48-1.i386.rpm error: Failed dependencies: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.4) is needed by yaz-2.1.48-1.i386 libcrypto.so.6 is needed by yaz-2.1.48-1.i386 libhistory.so.5 is needed by yaz-2.1.48-1.i386 libreadline.so.5 is needed by yaz-2.1.48-1.i386 libssl.so.6 is needed by yaz-2.1.48-1.i386 libyaz = 2.1.48 is needed by yaz-2.1.48-1.i386 libyaz.so.2 is needed by yaz-2.1.48-1.i386 rtld(GNU_HASH) is needed by yaz-2.1.48-1.i386 [root@Dell1600sc ~/Desktop]$ rpm -i libyaz-2.1.48-1.i386.rpm error: Failed dependencies: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.4) is needed by libyaz-2.1.48-1.i386 libcrypto.so.6 is needed by libyaz-2.1.48-1.i386 libssl.so.6 is needed by libyaz-2.1.48-1.i386 rtld(GNU_HASH) is needed by libyaz-2.1.48-1.i386 [root@Dell1600sc ~/Desktop]$ rpm -i libyaz-devel-2.1.48-1.i386.rpm error: Failed dependencies: libyaz = 2.1.48 is needed by libyaz-devel-2.1.48-1.i386 libyaz.so.2 is needed by libyaz-devel-2.1.48-1.i386 Thanks, Roger ******************************** Roger Hart Assistant Professor, Departments of History and Asian Studies University of Texas at Austin office: Room 470, Burdine Hall office phone: 512-475-7258 department fax: 512-475-7222 email: rhart@mail.utexas.edu http://uts.cc.utexas.edu/~rhart *********************************

If you haven't gotten this one resolved yet I'd suggest pinging the Yaz list: http://lists.indexdata.dk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/yazlist Best of luck. Let us know if you get past the Yaz dependency and still have trouble installing Koha.
