List of Koha libraries and/or their OPACs
Hi. I've been poking around for some library OPACs to study what is possible with Koha but haven't had much luck. I'd like to steal some ideas for developing our own OPAC. Could someone point me to such a list? Also, any other suggestions or OPAC development tools would be much appreciated. Thanks much! --Jim Maroon
Hi Jim, Owen Leonard really is the expert on this, http://www.myacpl.org/koha/?p=30 , http://www.myacpl.org/koha/?p=380, and there is a video here http://www.archive.org/details/KohaAndOpacCustomizationWithOwenLeonard. Really small list of opac's: Ours: http://catalog.sanbenitofl.org<http://catalog.sanbenitofl.org/> Salinas, California http://salinas.kohalibrary.com/ Los Gatos, California http://catalog.losgatosca.gov/ Hope that helps, James Ghiorzi Library Assistant II San Benito County Free Library 470 Fifth St. Hollister, CA 95023 ________________________________ From: koha-bounces@lists.katipo.co.nz [koha-bounces@lists.katipo.co.nz] On Behalf Of Buster [storypage@gmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, November 08, 2011 6:22 PM To: library Cc: koha@lists.katipo.co.nz Subject: [Koha] List of Koha libraries and/or their OPACs Hi. A few more The original Koha http://www.library.org.nz/ Hauraki District Council http://library.hauraki-dc.govt.nz/ NEKLS http://catalog.nexpresslibrary.org/ Athens County http://search.myacpl.org/ You can also look in libwebcats at http://www.librarytechnology.org/libwebcats/ But beware, there are some libraries listed there as running Koha that aren't, a quick look at the source code will tell you. Chris
I did a presentation at the KUDOS meeting in May which may be of help. The .pdf of the PowerPoint is now online at http://www.koha.org/documentation- It has links to various useful resources and notes about where you can insert customizations into the sysprefs. 2011/11/8 Buster <storypage@gmail.com>

That falls into the beware things that aren't actually Koha camp, fair and square, including that url. Just to be clear, the Koha project lives at http://koha-community.org Chris
Everything in that presentation with the single exception of one item (on slide 38, clearly labelled as such) is valid for what you are pleased to refer to as the fair and square Koha camp. Did you look at the presentation before responding? On Wed, Nov 9, 2011 at 5:15 PM, Chris Cormack <chris@bigballofwax.co.nz>wrote:

We could relitigate the whole thing again if you like, but I don't think it's worth boring the rest of the list. The Koha project lives at http://koha-community.org Chris

There is just 432 pages of "LLEKmanual-1.pdf" at your link, I don't see how this is going to help anyone on this list. Mirko
It is on the documentation page, the first item labelled OPAC Customizations in Single and Multi-Library Sites The direct link is http://www.koha.org/library/resources/Documentation/OPAC-Customization.pdfif you're not seeing it for some reason. I want to offer a belated thank you for all of the responses to my query about OPAC examples. They were a perfect mix of sites, suggestions, and a tiny tinge of controversy to spice things up. I found the power point presentation and the how-to blog particularly helpful. We don't have it up and running yet, but we are well on our way. Now I will be working with ByWater staff to fine tune things. So, thanks everyone for an informative and entertaining read! --Jim Maroon
