If you use Webmin you'll be able to export each table data in CSV format (you can opt for a comma or tab separated values) and then edit it in excel or open office. This is one feature I've used, maybe you'll find other ways of achieving the result you want.
For the same use you can also use PHPmyadmin, an MySQL database manager !

Our university authority need each department to report books in excel format. Is there a neat way to generate a excel spreadsheet containing the required MARC fields?
