Check in check out fields losing focus
Koha 3.15.00.029 on Debian Wheezy When checking out items I have to click every time in the check out box, because the focus disappears. This is most irritating. The same happens when I check in items, and it slows me down considerably. The librarians have not killed me yet, but they start looking like they want to. I tried to upgrade to 3.16.00 which runs perfectly fine on my laptop hoping that would solve the problem (I could be wrong of course), but I have missing perl modules I cannot install. I am missing: Data::Pagination HTTPD::Bench::ApacheBench Archive::Extract Test::WWW::Mechanize They all stop at cannot test without successful make. I did some googling and found a post that advised to install libchi-driver-memcached-perl, but that does not work either; The following packages have unmet dependencies: libchi-driver-memcached-perl : Depends: libchi-perl but it is not going to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. So, now I need some help. Especially to automatically return focus to check in / check out boxes Thanks, Marty

While we’re on the subject of focuses: when issuing a loan and a message appears it sets focus to the check out tab in the head of the page. That means that if I’m to quick and keep scanning I will scan a barcode in a box that wants a library card number and loose my checkout session. When a message is lit up I feel that the focus should either remain in the barcode field (with the message blocking new loans until ti’s been handled) or to one of the buttons in the message. I guess this could be solved with jQuery but do anyone agree that this could be handled better by default? Can you be more specific about the circumstances that lead to this behavior, and what version of Koha you're using? I don't think I've ever seen this problem before. -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org
Interesting. We’re on Koha 3.14.6 as of now but have seen this behavior through lots of releases using Safari, Chrome, Firefox and IE on Windows XP, 7 and OS X. I did confirm the same behavior on the demo from ByWater running 3.15 in Chrome on OS X. I would love to there that it’s some setting we’ve missed, but on all Koha installs I’ve seen the cursor jumps from the barcode box to the top bar when a message appears. Thanks for picking up on the subject. Most certainly: 1) Log into http://intranet.bywatersolutions.com/ with bywater/ bywater. 2) Reserve something to someone. For example TVSN500076454D<http://intranet.bywatersolutions.com/cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/moredetail.pl?type=&itemnumber=10352&biblionumber=10143&bi=10143#item10352> reserved for 0011. 3) Navigate to http://intranet.bywatersolutions.com/cgi-bin/koha/circ/circulation.pl and check out to Lisa Carr (313) 2) Scan ”TVSN500076454D<http://intranet.bywatersolutions.com/cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/moredetail.pl?type=&itemnumber=10352&biblionumber=10143&bi=10143#item10352>” and watch the cursor jump from ”Enter item barcode” to ”Enter patron card number or partial name”. I used this demo since it’s MARC21 which is the same as us and has the same behavior while being accessible to all.
