Re: [Koha] barcode check digits
This isn't much help in the short run, but long term, Koha should allow for user selection of barcode length. In the U.S., 13-digit barcodes are quickly becoming the norm. Stephen Hedges Nelsonville Public Library
Hi all!
I am trying to order barcodes and find the url (http://developer.koha.org/HLT2.xls) from koha.org FAQ in-active. I see that koha uses a 9 digit barcode standard, but am unsure how to order. Has anyone else crossed this path before?

Hi, When I ordered barcodes this morning the saleslady explained that the check digit is a trailing digit of the barcode. So in the case of Koha, which requires a 9 digit number the check digit is any number between 1-0 with the system making the decision for me. When ordering barcodes I then need to place an "x" for the trailing number. Koha will read the trailing "x" and randomly "read" a digit in place of the "x" Thanks Stephen cheers dd
