Koha opacSerialDefaultTab
In the pre-release version of Koha 3.2 that we had (3.01.00.140) there wasn't anything under the Local Use Tab, and there isn't anything yet in the online documentation at http://koha-community.org/documentation/3-2-manual, and if it is on the Wiki, I couldn't find it. Could someone explain to me what the opacSerialDefaultTab setting does? Thanks!* <http://koha.mdah.state.ms.us:8080/cgi-bin/koha/admin/systempreferences.pl?op=add_form&searchfield=opacSerialDefaultTab>* -- Linda Culberson lculber@mdah.state.ms.us Archives and Records Services Division Ms. Dept. of Archives& History P. Many of the preferences in that tab are under scrutiny: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=3756 Until I'm told for sure what really belongs there and what doesn't (and in my opinion nothing but prefs created locally belong there) I'm not putting them in the manual - because some of them aren't even used in the code (which is my understanding). That preference you're referring to though - I don't see it on my local use tab at all in Koha 3.2 final. Nicole 2010/10/26 Linda Culberson <lculber@mdah.state.ms.us>:

Nicole, We have 3.02.00.004 loaded and it does have several settings under Local Use, although my pre-release version didn't . This one has: FrameworksLoaded HomeOrHoldingBranchReturn OpacCloud opacSerialDefaultTab printcirculationslips Version all under Local Use. On 10/26/2010 9:26 PM, Nicole Engard wrote:

Interesting ... I have some of those on Local Use - but not all of them. Can anyone else possibly explain for us? Nicole On Thu, Oct 28, 2010 at 6:25 AM, Linda Culberson <lculber@mdah.state.ms.us> wrote:

Did you both do fresh installs? Or have either of you upgraded? Fresh installs you should have exactly the same, upgraded you might have different ones that were added sometime in the past. Chris
Ours was a fresh install, On 1:59 PM, Chris Cormack wrote:

This is cosmetic, but can't be addressed until 3.2.1 because of the string freeze for 3.2.0. FrameworksLoaded and Version are special, and are two system preferences that shouldn't be (directly) editable at all. HomeOrHoldingBranchReturn is simply a new syspref that was added as part of closing a blocker for 3.2. OpacCloud and opacSerialDefaultTab are both real system preferences and just need to be moved to the OPAC section, while printcirculationslips is a setting that is almost dead but possibly not quite dead yet in the case of HLT. Thanks Galen! I will update the manual accordingly. And I was an upgrade which is why we have different preferences. Nicole On Thu, Oct 28, 2010 at 10:12 AM, Galen Charlton <gmcharlt@gmail.com> wrote:
